The Blowupdoll Clan was established in 2006 by Troepster and Blinky in the BF2 era. The clan then expanded when BF2142 came out and at a stage boasted with the largest member count in SA.
We have competed and played online in BF2, BF 2142, BFBC2, COD4, COD5, Modern Warfare 2, COD: Black Ops, Trackmania, WOW, Guildwars and of course our main focus at the moment BF3.
We pride ourselves on being a social clan first, competitive gaming clan second, and regularly organise social events.
The Blowupdoll Clan caters for the more mature player and as such only allow over 18's to join.
We are also very active in Action Sports and currently have 7 teams competing throughout the Cape.
Every new recruit has to post a thread in the Recruitment Office forum with the title "[USERNAME] Reporting For Duty" (Replace [USERNAME] with your own nick name) where you will tell us a little more about yourself, what you do, where you stay, what games you play, etc, etc
One of the admins will then ask the recruit a set of questions. These questions are a way that we can get to know you and your sense of humour a bit better. Feel free to be as creative as possible in answering them.
After answering your questions you will be assigned a Drill Sergeant. Your Drill Sergeant is responsible for helping you feel welcome and will be assisting you in getting up to speed on how things work in the clan. He will also be giving you a number of tasks that you have to complete during your training period.
Please let us know what games you play, as your drill sergeant will preferably be from the same game that are playing. Some of your tasks will also be game related.
Your training period lasts for 2 weeks. During this time you should wear your Training tags.
After the 2 weeks are done the clan will vote. If you have a positive vote from 4 current clan members you will become a full BUD and can remove your training tags.
| Clantags used in games | |
|---|---|
| Black ops training tags | TBUD |
| Black ops member tags | BUD |
| Bad Company 2 training tags | [T]=BUD |
| Bad Company 2 member tags | []=BUD |
| Battlefield 3 training tags | tBUD |
| Battlefield 3 member tags | BUD |
We are lucky enough to have our own teamspeak channel which we use to stay in touch when playing games. This is quite important, especially when we play clan matches. The following thread contains all the information you need to install and configure teamspeak:
